This truly English Country Garden collection is made in either pure wool or luxury linen/cotton and is hand-embroidered in exquisite detail depicting minute little flowers, trees and birds. The stitches are very elaborate and include leaf, stem, daisy, buttonhole satin and French knot to name a few. Each tea cosy has a handmade padded gingham inner in a contrasting colour which compliments the outer shell. This also adds insulation for keeping that all important ‘cuppa’.
This simple, elegant Cottage Border Tea Cosy was inspired by the embroideries that Jan's grandmother and great aunts hand stitched from the 1920's to the 1950's and it depicts a border of fabulous summer flowers. The sunflower in the centre is flanked by delphiniums, hollyhocks and daisies using an array of traditional embroidery stitches. This tea cosy in cream linen/cotton is edged in a contrasting scallop trim.
